top 200 no more

Many would have reluctantly been anticipating that no Malaysian universities will be ranked within the Top 200 by the Times Higher Education Supplement (THES) World University rankings at some point in time. It didn't happen last year, although we came very close with Universiti Malaya (UM) ranked at 192 while Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) ranked a little better at 185.

Never miss news today because for sure there will be comments from MOHE and some of locals VCs regarding the ranking. I still remember when they commented last year ranking are irrelevant when University Malaya rank dropped 23 position last year.However, this year, our university ranking dropped even more.A summary of the Malaysian University Performance on previous years is as follows:

updated : Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) fell to 309th from 185th in 2006, Universiti Malaya (UM) to 246th (192) and Universiti Sains Malaysia to 307th (277)

TSUKINOUSAGI.. MMU just being established for only 10 years, it is hard to get invited to take part in the THES ranking. So there are no MMU in THES ranking. Yes,I think we should revise back our educational system. Better than do nothing right? but the main problem why no malaysia varsity in THES ranking is transparency on the management =P
